Computer Skills

Proficient with the complete Microsoft Office suite in Windows and Macintosh.  Proficient in the use of print and web graphic design software including Photoshop, Freehand, Illustrator, Quark Xpress, Dreamweaver, Frontpage, and Flash. Some experience in Unix and Linux environments. Some experience with the statistics software SPSS. Excellent Internet research skills up to a scholarly level of rigor. Experience in the design, construction, and maintenance of low- and mid-range networks.

Fieldwork

2009       Chao Valley, Peru with the P.E.R.U. non-profit organization; continuation of ethnographic research begun in 2001, initial site survey for a basic sanitation project in the town of San Leon tentatively schedule for 2010, revitalization of the Santa Rita weaving cooperative, and facilitating the creation of the Porvenir weaving cooperative.

2007       Canyon Creek Elementary, extended participant observation of kindergarten and aftercare program classrooms.

·         Volunteer work for Peruvian Eco-sustainable Research and Understanding: fieldwork in Peru in July 2008, organization of research data, writing white papers, contributing to the development of the organization website, communications materials, and fundraising.

·         Assisted with a mini-grant program for Colorado public school educators sponsored by the Focus on Education Foundation.

·         Implemented an internship program at Chameleon Creative, Inc. for University of Colorado marketing students (1999 – 2001).

·         Developed a mini-seminar program for Front Range Community College graphic arts student hosted by Chameleon Creative, Inc. (1998 – 1999)

·         Organized large-scale blood drives in cooperation with Bonfils and Boulder County businesses (1997 – 1998).

·         Member of the Boulder County Private Industry Council (PIC) in 1996-1997; PIC advised county government on education, work training, and welfare policy.

·         Sponsored numerous community events including "Making Connections" Boulder County Business Fair, Air Show Colorado, Boulder-Dushanbe Teahouse Trust, Practice for Pets, and Boulder Chautauqua Park 100th Anniversary celebration.
